Always a big event on the local calendar, the Holden v. Ford street meet was back on at the Quit Motorplex, and the WA Performance & Service Centre team were out in force supporting their cars. Featuring a mix of customer cars - from exhaust only to head and cam cars, impressive times were set by all on the night.

Hitting hard, the standout on the night was Adam's silver VY SS M6 ute, pulling a personal best of 12.81 @ 109 mph.

08/02/06 - This record is clocking up serious frequent flyer points heading back and forth from coast to coast, and it isn't the only thing flying. Not one to pack it in after the solid dent put in the record by the Eastern states boys, Clint and Mitch were back at work to get the VY back to the track, and the hard work has paid off with back to back 11.2 passes. Another consistent display of performance and driving, congratulations Clint.

UPDATE: yet again, the boys from GM Motorsport have raised the bar, claiming the record once more. Look out for the black VY at the track again soon!

Western Australia's annual celebration of the motor vehicle, MOTORVATION, has been and gone for another year. As usual a huge show with a big turn out of all variety of cars and events at the Kwinanna Motorplex across the weekend. The WA Performance & Service Centre team were out in force on the Commodore Car Club of Western Australia stand.

Featuring WA Performance & Service Centre VX and VY Clubsports, twin black VY utes and Cosmo VY SS. Big thanks to all the team for their efforts getting the cars ready for this event.

UPDATE 13/01/06: Well this was always going to be a hotly contested record, and it was only a short stay in the West as the record has headed back east again. Congratulations to GM Motorsport (benna and phonsey) lifting the cam only bar even further with a new record of 11.2 @ 124mph.

WA Performance & Service Centre was lucky enough to be the workshop of choice for Clinton's VY Clubsport when he made the move to Western Australia. Arriving with a GM Motorsport fitted and tuned cam package, the VY was already an impressive vehicle. WA Performance & Service Centre then continued on the fine work, with modifications including fitting a Ripshift and Textralia clutch, and all of the other key changes that go into putting a car at the head of the pack.
The result - an Australian LS1/GenIII cam only record of 11.42 @ 120 mph. This feat was achieved more than once, with a series of runs in 11.4 bracket, proving the solid and reliable performance of this car. Congratulations to Clint on this impressive effort.

We can barely keep up with the times in the news section as they continue to tumble. Not content with last months 11.43 @ 120MPH, the WA Performance Centre VX Clubsport (Da Hammer) was back to the track for another installment of Whoop Ass Wednesday. The result - a new PB of 11.22 @ 121MPH, an impressive result for this N/A 346 LS1 Making the cut for a heads up final of the eight fastest cars on the night, Da Hammer's run was only stopped in the final by a 9 second Cobra.
Check out all the details of this awesome vehicle (and reigning AME LS1/LS2 Cracked Class Champion) in the garage, or check the gallery for some great video of Da Hammer in action.

UPDATE - New PB of 11.18 @ 122mph

The 11.72 @ 115MPH record from HSV 364 was short lived with Clinton back at the Motorplex to set an even more impressive mark - 11.54 @ 119MPH. With sights now firmly set on the Australian cam only LS1 record, stay tuned to see what this car and driver can do...

One of the finest cars to roll out of the HSV factory is also one of the finest vehicles to roll out of the WA Performance & Service Centre workshop. Fittingly, Mick Junkers VX Senator 300 has been recognised with a feature in Street Commodores issue 104 (November 2005). The already well kitted VX looked a million dollars in the article which covered the vehicles top of the line modifications - Starr Supercharger Package, LS1 Edit tune, Kaaz LSD, custom exhaust and airbag suspension are among the highlights of this sensational vehicle.

This three day event was not only a showcase of WA’s finest examples of automotive excellence, but it marked WA Performance & Service Centre public debut.
Presenting a solid line-up of cars including Grimace (VY SS Sedan), Short-Shift (VX HSV Clubsport), LS1UTE (VY SS Ute) , 1Wanker (VY SS Sedan), 2Impulsiv (V2 Monaro) and a special guest appearance by 2HOT (VY SS Sedan), the WA Performance & Service centre stand looked a million bucks with its signage and display cabinets chock full of LS1 power parts and accessories.

A huge effort was made by all, in preparing and presenting the cars, to organising the display stand and its signage.
The efforts didn’t go unnoticed, with 3 trophy’s being taken home by cars from the WA Performance stable:

Short Shift – Winner LS1 opened class with 442 RWHP
(back to back titles)
LS1UTE – 3rd Overall in the Ute category
2Impulsiv – 3rd Overall in the Coupe category

Strong dyno numbers were made by all, with Short-Shift being at the pointy end after a revised tune was installed.

The WA Performance & Service Centre VY SS took pride of place on the RIPshift stand and looked superb.

All in all, a successful show for WA Performance and its customers.

Special thanks to Biante12 for his tireless efforts in assisting to prepare all the cars, and to everyone else involved in making the show the success it was.

The WA Performance & Service Centre 346ci N/A LS1 VYSS hits a new PB at the Quit Motorplex, running 11.42 @ 120mph.
